Today Anchor Dylan Dreyer Announces Split from Husband of 12 Years – Details

The beloved meteorologist made the devastating announcement on Instagram, after fans noticed she had been wearing her wedding ring on and off in recent weeks.
On Friday, July 18, Dylan Dreyer took to Instagram to share that she and her husband of 12 years, Brian Fichera, had chosen to separate, revealing that they had made the decision months prior.

“For many years, I have shared my family with you all — the highs and lows, the ups and downs, and all of the blessings and beautiful memories in between,” Dreyer began. “I am incredibly grateful for the support and love you’ve given me through it all.”
“I am incredibly grateful for the support and love you’ve given me through it all. For that reason, I want to share with you that a few months ago, Brian and I made the decision to separate,” she continued.

Dreyer shared that she and Fichera “began as friends” and would remain the “closest of friends.” She added that their main priority going forward is co-parenting their three sons: Calvin, 8; Oliver, 5; and Rusty, 3.
A source who spoke to people also corroborated, “Dylan and Brian remain best friends, and they are committed to coparenting and putting their three children first.” Fans who have been following the couple over the years were saddened to learn of their split, though some remained supportive.

One Facebook user wrote, “This is a real shock. You just never know what people’s struggles are in their lives. Seemingly happy, beautiful kids. But you just never know. I hate this for those kids. Hopefully they can find their way through.”
Others noted that Dreyer rarely wore her wedding band in recent weeks, particularly in the past few days, as one person said, “I saw that she wasn’t wearing her ring a couple days ago and immediately wondered if that was the case.”
“I noticed the other day that she did not have her wedding ring on,” another echoed the observation. “I figured couple weeks ago she didn’t have her rings on,” a third added. “Wedding rings missing for weeks,” someone else commented.
Dreyer’s announcement comes just weeks after she celebrated Independence Day with Fichera and their sons. She shared an Instagram carousel from the day’s festivities, where she hosted Macy’s fireworks special for NBC.
One notable image in the thread shows her beaming with Fichera and the boys as they posed for a selfie. “What an incredible night being a part of the @macys 4th of July fireworks show!!! Hope you all had an amazing 4th of July and enjoy the whole weekend!!” she captioned the post.

Dreyer and Fichera, a freelance producer and cameraman, also recently took a trip to the American century golf championships in Lake Tahoe, where Fichera served as Dreyer’s caddy. The former couple have shared a love for the sport since shortly after they began dating.
In fact, it was Fichera who bought Dreyer her first set of clubs. After becoming parents to three boys, the pair didn’t get much alone time away from their parenting duties, but their shared hobby helped fill that gap.
“Golf is the thing we do together. We have a couple of drinks, we laugh. We remember why we fell in love. Then we go home and it’s right back to family,” Dreyer told TODAY.com in 2023. She also reflected on how they navigated becoming a family of five.
“When we brought Rusty home from the hospital, Brian was like, ‘OK. Let’s just accept the fact that this is going to be the hardest year of our lives,'” she said at the time. But after getting through that first year, things naturally became easier.
And, for them, the boys remained at the center of their world. However, Dreyer emphasized that this didn’t strain their relationship in any sense. “I don’t want say it’s had any negative impact on our relationship — we’ve only gotten stronger,” she shared.
She attributed that strength to Fichera teaching her how to communicate better. In March 2024, the anchor gave fans a humorous glimpse of how chaotic parenting three boys sometimes became.
She shared a screenshot of texts between her and Fichera, talking about their sons that morning. “How are the boys?? How’s morning?” Dreyer asked in her message, to which Fichera responded, “Boys are great!! Morning’s good!”
Less than half an hour later, however, Fichera texted Dreyer a photo of broken glass on their dining table. “Well that took a turn! #boys,” she captioned the post. Dreyer later spoke with TODAY.com about the chaotic morning.
“Brian runs the morning… gets the kids up and fed and dressed and off to school,” she shared. She also revealed that she and Fichera have different parenting styles. “He’s the fun dad but also the disciplinarian,” she said.
Before the eventful days as a family of five, Dreyer and Fichera faced infertility issues after welcoming their first son, Calvin. The couple were excited to expand their family, but after several attempts, each pregnancy test came back negative.
Eventually, they sought medical help and found that Dreyer had “significant scar tissue” after her “last minute unplanned C-section.” She underwent a procedure to clean up the scar tissue, and once they were medically cleared to try again, Dreyer finally got pregnant.
She and Fichera were over the moon — but the joy was short-lived, as Dreyer suffered a miscarriage soon after. Fichera stayed by her side and supported her as best as he could. Eventually, things worked out, and they were able to welcome Oliver, then finally, Rusty.
