Hurts spoke to Fox Sports reporter Erin Andrews right after the electrifying game. The interview took place on the field amid a roaring crowd and confetti.

“You know, God is good. He’s greater than all the highs and the lows and I think, personally myself [sic], I’ve just been able to use every experience and learn from it—the good, the bad, all of it, using it as fuel to pursue my own greatness, and I think I couldn’t do any of these things without the guys around me,” shared Hurts, who dubbed his team “special.”

Prompting the quarterback to speak a little bit more about the Eagles’ success and how they managed to win, the reporter asked Hurts to elaborate on their strategy further, adding, “No one saw this coming.”

After explaining how the Eagles were able to learn from past events, Hurts responded, “Defense wins championships, and we saw how they played today. We saw the difference they made in the game and they gave us opportunities, gave us short fields, and we’re able to do what we do.”

Andrews then prompted Hurts to take notice of the lively energy surrounding him and the confetti raining down on him and the field and asked him about his feelings. “Still processing it. I’m still processing it but can’t wait to enjoy this with my family and soak it in,” divulged Hurts.

Social media was set ablaze with comments praising Hurts and the rest of the Eagles for their impressive gameplay. “JALEN Hurts played a Phenomenal Game. All the Eagles did how Sweet it is,” commended a supporter.

Another echoed“Cheers to you @JalenHurts. I love your mindset and approach to life. From this member of #ChiefsKingdom to you, congrats. You are the embodiment of perseverance through adversity. You do it the right way and let your play do the talking. #SuperBowlLIX.”

Reacting to the comment Andrews made during Hurts’ interview, a netizen penned“‘No one saw this coming?’ Erin why would you say that?!!!! 😮.” Echoing the sentiment, someone else expressed“Erin Andrews is terrible. The snark making it all about her. However it’s hard for her seeing as how she fanboyed the cowboys and chiefs all year and was totally disinterested in the eagles [sic].”

An Instagrammer who noticed how emotional Hurts was after winning, noted“It’s okay to cry Jalen you are a champion.”

Coming to Hurts’ defense against past critics, an admirer wrote“This dude deserves it man.. nothing but negative comments all year …. Like we all say, just cuz we don’t throw the ball as much as you wants us to doesn’t mean we can’t .. he definitely showed yall [sic].”

“Humble low key guy. That’s rare in that league [sic],” praised a fan, while another gushed“We did it! Congratulations, Jalen! You deserve this victory. You truly are number 1, like your jersey says. Well done. Fly, Eagles, Fly! On the road to victory! E-A-G-L-E-S! EAGLES! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉.”

A fellow supporter said“Hurts was very good, but the MVPs of the game was the Eagles Defense. Exceptional play by all including the coach [sic].”

The Eagles Super Bowl victory comes after social media users shared their predictions on the game’s then-upcoming outcome. Many believed that the Kansas City Chiefs would take the title, which netizens also expressed frustration over because of the team’s previous continued dominance.

On X, one user wrote, “I’ll actually be pissed if the chiefs [sic] win another Super Bowl.” Another added, “I actually don’t even know who the chiefs are playing in the Super Bowl. I just know the chiefs will be given the win [sic].”

Some users believed that officiating has favored Kansas City. On this, one user commented, “I think the NFL is rigged to help the Chiefs win. That’s why I’ve bet on the Philadelphia Eagles to win the Super Bowl this year. If the Chiefs do end up winning, I’m going to be extremely mad about it.”

Another person shared a similar sentiment, “I won’t be watching for the simple fact that the game will be handed to the Chiefs just like the last couple they’ve played! Now this is just another reason to not watch it!”

Someone else referenced officiating concerns, “Because it’s so obvious it can’t be ignored anymore It’s that simple. After watching the whole season Again I can say without a doubt that The Chiefs win games cos the Refs are helping them [sic].”

On Instagram, people echoed similar opinions, with one person stating, “Maybe because we already know who’s going to win clearly the chiefs have something the nfl doesn’t want out [sic].”

Another user commented on the connection between the Chiefs’ recent success and pop culture, “At this point we all know the chiefs are going to win, all the Taylor fans who’ve never watched football will be in chiefs gear, the refs will give it to them [sic].”

The debate over the Chiefs’ success had even reached the team itself. In a February 4 post by Fox Sports NFL, Chiefs star Travis Kelce addressed the ongoing discussion about officiating. When asked what question he would ask the media, Kelce responded, “Why are you guys leaning into this whole ref thing? You know what I mean? Like, why are you guys leaning into it?”

His response indicated that the Chiefs were aware of the criticism surrounding their victories, though Kelce did not expand further on the topic.

The conversation surrounding the game also extended to the White House. On February 4, President Donald Trump was asked about the Super Bowl during a press session in the Oval Office. While he did not explicitly predict a winner, his comments suggested he expected a Chiefs victory.

“I don’t want to say but there’s a certain quarterback that seems to be a pretty good winner,” Trump said. Many interpreted this as a reference to Patrick Mahomes, who has led the Chiefs to two consecutive Super Bowl titles and had the potential to secure a third.

In addition to his remarks, it was confirmed on February 5 that President Trump would attend the Super Bowl in New Orleans. This marked a historic moment, as he was the first sitting U.S. president to attend the game in person.

Following the announcement of Trump’s attendance, Mahomes and Kelce shared their thoughts on playing in front of a sitting president.

Mahomes acknowledged the significance, stating, “It’s always cool to be able to play in front of a sitting president, someone that is at the top position in our country. It’s cool to hear that he’s seen me play football in respects [sic] to the game that I play.”

Kelce added, “It’s a great honor. I think, you know, no matter who the president is, I know I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life, and having the president there—it’s the best country in the world. So it’d be pretty cool.”
